Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 May 2026
Smartville, Inc. ("Smartville", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit smartvilleenergy.com or contact us, how we use it, and the rights you have under California law.
1. Information we collect
We collect personal information you provide directly when you submit a contact form on our site:
- Your name or organization
- Your email address
- The product or application you're interested in (energy storage, microgrid, AI data center, mobile power, battery reuse, or other)
- The capacity, volume, or scope of your project, if you choose to share it
- Any message you write to us
Our hosting provider (AWS Amplify) may also collect standard server log information automatically: IP address, browser type and version, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. This is used for security and operations.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
We do not currently use cookies for analytics, advertising, behavioral tracking, or cross-context profiling. The only browser storage we use is a small localStorage entry that records your response to our cookie notice (Accept or Reject), so we do not show the banner on every visit. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
If you click Accept, you agree that we may, in the future, place non-essential cookies (such as analytics) on your device. We will update this policy first if and when that happens.
If you click Reject, no non-essential cookies will be placed now or in the future, even if we later add analytics. We will continue to honor that choice as long as the localStorage entry persists on your device.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and discuss your project
- To send you product information you have requested
- To improve our website, products, and services
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Who we share information with
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration, advertising, or cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may share information with:
- Service providers who host our website and process inquiries on our behalf (for example, AWS for hosting and email delivery), under contracts that prohibit them from using the information for any other purpose
- Legal authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights
- An acquirer in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets
5. Your rights under California law
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you the following rights:
Right to know
You can request that we disclose what personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we shared it.
Right to delete
You can request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
Right to correct
You can request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
Right to opt out of sale or sharing
You can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. As stated above, Smartville does not sell or share personal information.
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information
You can direct us to limit our use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect or use sensitive personal information in ways that trigger this right.
Right to non-discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. We will not deny services, charge a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised your privacy rights.
6. How to exercise your rights
Email us at info@smartvilleenergy.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request" and tell us which right you'd like to exercise. We will respond within 45 days as required by law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, with proof of authorization.
7. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Smartville does not sell your personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is no sale or sharing for you to opt out of. If our practices change in the future, we will provide notice and a clear opt-out mechanism on this site.
8. Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with our legal obligations, or to resolve disputes.
9. Children
Our website is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 16, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
